The Tree of Life panel was my first stained glass project. The panel was the result of a short beginners class on techniques of creating stained glass objects. Students had to pick or create a design. When I mentioned to my wife I had no idea what I wanted to make and she asked if I would make a panel representing a tree-of-life. The resulting design is based upon a beautiful photo of a very old Japanese maple, which I discovered on the ‘Net. I’ve included a copy of that photo for reference.
The photo at left is a close-up of the hand cut dovetailed and pegged cherry wood frame with ebony pegs.
